I am an internationally published award-winning author, and I would love to bring a spark of reading excitement to your school. My books and presentation are perfect for engaging a wide range of students.

For 2^nd and 3^rd grade, I can provide a presentation on my critically acclaimed nonfiction picture book:

The Elephants Come Home—a true story about trust and friendship that has captured the hearts of readers nationwide. It’s on nine state reading lists, and is the winner of the California Young Readers Medal, the Comstock-Gág Book Award, the Norman A. Sugarman Biography Honor, and Pennsylvania’s Keystone to Reading Award.

For 4th and 5^th grade, I can provide a presentation that will help make students stronger writers. I feature fun with poetry as well as verb-strengthening exercises (all this while having fun with language and handing out prizes). The book:

The Truth About Fifth Grade, a Sid Fleischman Humor Award finalist. This book is an ideal choice for reluctant readers and fans of diary-style stories like Diary of a Wimpy Kid, Invisible Emmy, and more. The story explores friendship, perspective, poetry, and humor in a way that gets kids talking and laughing.
